Tucuman Province

Tucuman is a province whose capital city is called San Miguel de Tucumán. It has an area of 22,524 km ², representing 0.81% of the territory of Argentina.

Bordered on the north by the province of Salta, with the south of Santiago del Estero and Catamarca, and to the west of Catamarca. For the Northwest Province penetrate alignments that belong to the wedding in the mountains crystal Subandean (Calchaqui Summit), which extends south of the cord with the Cerro del Aconquija Bolsón (5550 meters high). West of the Summits of the cord and Calchaqui Aconquija is the Sierra del Cajon, opens between Santa Maria Valley, where the river runs namesake. The eastern part consists of a plain, crossed by the river I was out.

The Tucuman climate is tropical. Are important differences due to rainfall and temperature rise in the capital the average annual temperature is 18 º C and has an annual rainfall of 899 mm, while in Villa Nougues at 1388 m altitude, is 13 º C with a rainfall of 1437 mm.

Dominated subtropical forest between 400 and 1400 meters in height, the most characteristic species are the bay leaves, cedar, Lapacho, walnut, and jacaranda. At higher altitudes dominated the alder and Quéñoa. In the eastern part of the province extends the Chaco forest (quebracho, and guayacán algarrobo).
