Geology of the Andes mountain
The peaks and needles are rare in the Andes: the view includes, above all, large horizontal surfaces which can be seen ancient erosion staggered, but it is difficult to accept that all of them are post-foldings. Volcanic and seismic activities attest to the fragility of the crust in the Cordillera. The traces of volcanism are pervasive. It is necessary to relate the tectonics of the Andes and particularly the abundance of volcanoes with existence of mineral wealth: formerly operated mainly gold and silver today is extracted from underground copper and tin in Peru, Bolivia and Chile, oil in Venezuela, Colombia , Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and the Argentine foothills.
